Is the BNB Crypto a Buy Near Record Highs?

BNB (BNBUSD) is the native utility token of the Binance ecosystem, which includes the Binance exchange. It is the biggest crypto exchange worldwide, so BNB is heavily used, and it is one of the only few cryptos that have bona fide utility. The crypto is also used to pay fees for other tokens and smart contracts on the Binance Smart Chain.
Still, the price action has been muted since the first few months of 2024. It only delivered low double-digit upside if you bought during those 2024 highs and barely eeked out new highs as Bitcoin (BTCUSD) raced ahead.
More recently, even Ethereum (ETHUSD) has started delivering significant gains, with BNB remaining behind. Bitcoin is up 25% in the year to date, while Ethereum is up 20%. BNB lags behind, up 11%.

CEA Industries’ Pivot Causes BNB to Gain
CEA Industries (VAPE) rebranded to BNB Network Company (BNC) and changed its stock ticker to BNC, effective Aug. 6, 2025. However, due to the recency of this change, I’ll still call it CEA Industries in this article.
CEA Industries is a Nasdaq-listed company that announced earlier this week that it had closed a $500 million private placement to pivot toward a corporate treasury strategy heavily focused on acquiring and holding BNB as its primary reserve asset.
This could make the company one of the largest corporate holders of BNB. If you’ve heard of MicroStrategy, now known as just Strategy (MSTR), the approach of CEA Industries to BNB is very similar.
Its private placement attracted over 140 subscribers and included investors like YZi Labs, Pantera Capital, G-20 Group, and others like Arche Capital, Exodus Point, and Blockchain.com, with Cantor Fitzgerald serving as the lead financial advisor and sole placement agent.
Following the initial announcement on July 28, BNB hit a new all-time high above $860 per coin.
Upgrades Keep BNB in the Game
The BNB Chain has undergone noteworthy upgrades in 2025, and it has reduced block times to under 1 second (currently at 0.75 seconds). In turn, it slashed transaction fees to about $0.01, and the chain handled peak daily volumes of 17.6 million transactions last month. These changes have boosted efficiency.
The auto-burn mechanism recently completed its 32nd quarterly burn and removed 1.59 million BNB from circulation. Corporate adoption is accelerating, with U.S.-listed firms such as Windtree Therapeutics (WINT) allocating up to $520 million for BNB treasury holdings, Nano Labs (NA) aiming for $1 billion in purchases to hold 10% of circulating supply, and CEA, of course.
More upgrades are underway, and the roadmap should keep BNB useful and relevant. As such, I don’t see any reason to be bearish here.
Time to Buy BNB?
With altseason ahead, BNB will be a key beneficiary. It is one of the largest smart contract chains alongside Solana (SOLUSDT) and Ethereum, and the continuous upgrades should keep it so, especially as the exchange itself sees more use.
BNB has recently broken above the 20-day moving average and has turned it into support. However, strong resistance is likely near $800 and $808.
If altseason kicks in this year, BNB should be able to break through above $1,000 this cycle.
